  1. How much weight will a shelf hold?

  2. In ½' drywall, with backclips every 12" and support braces every 42" and wall brackets where applicable the static weight capacity is as follows;

  3. How height should I place my shelves?

  4. Our normal heights are 84" for the top shelf or top double hanging shelf, 72" for the long hanging shelf, 44" for the lower double hanging shelf (this is so you can put a basket system in later) and 12" from the floor for a shoe shelf and 7" spacing after that. Most shelving should be 12" apart, usually leaving extra room at the floor level.
